Veltus Park

Eight acres of green space along the Roaring Fork River define Veltus Park, a Glenwood Springs staple located at the intersection of Midland Avenue and 8th Street. The park offers three picnic shelters, two equipped with electric outlets, alongside standard picnic tables and charcoal barbecue grills. Visitors utilize a variety of athletic facilities, including volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, as well as horseshoe pits. A playground serves children, while a wheelchair-accessible fishing ramp provides direct entry to the river for anglers. Restrooms with changing tables are available, and shaded walking trails with benches wind through the trees, offering spots for relaxation or swimming along the small beaches. The park remains open seven days a week and accepts credit cards for any nearby concessions or fees.
