RIFLE, CO (July 24, 2026) — The City of Rifle and Colorado River Valley Chamber invite residents and visitors to attend the 2026 Garfield County Fair Parade on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. To ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in downtown Rifle.
Road Closures Beginning at 7 a.m. for parade staging until approximately noon, the following streets will be closed and will reopen once the parade has safely cleared the area:
- W. 16th Street from Railroad Avenue to Prefontaine Avenue
Beginning at 9:30 a.m. until approximately noon, the following street will be closed for the parade and will reopen once the parade has safely cleared the area:
- Railroad Avenue from W. 16th Street to Centennial Parkway
Parking Restrictions
No parking will be permitted along the parade route beginning at 8:30 a.m. Vehicles remaining in restricted areas may be towed to provide a safe route for parade participants and emergency access.
Detours
Motorists should expect delays and plan to use alternate routes. Detour signs will be in place, and traffic control personnel will assist motorists throughout the event.
- Through traffic is encouraged to use the Highway 13 Bypass.
Road Openings
While temporary closures will be in place for the parade, the intersection of W. Third Street and Park Avenue will be opened to traffic. Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the intersection, as it remains an active construction zone within the W. Third Street Improvement Project and Park Avenue Bridge Project.
Please note: W. Second Street will remain closed between Tripp Drive and W. Third Street as construction on the project continues.
Downtown Access
Businesses along the parade route will remain open during the event. Visitors planning to shop or dine downtown are encouraged to arrive before road closures begin.
