Aspen —Aspen High School volleyball is 11-0 in Western Slope League play.

The Skiers remain undefeated in conference action as the regular season enters its final stretch, a record that keeps them firmly atop the Class 3A standings. On Thursday inside the AHS gymnasium, the team swept Middle Park in straight sets to add another clean sheet to their ledger. The set scores were 25-14, 25-18, and 25-20.

According to the Aspen Times, the Skiers’ league dominance stands in contrast to their non-conference results over the weekend. The team dropped a 3-0 decision at Eaton on Friday, a loss to a squad ranked inside the 3A top 10. They rebounded on Saturday with a 3-0 win at Wellington, finishing the weekend 1-1.

Aspen enters this week with an overall record of 16-2, sitting just outside the top 10 in CHSAA’s fluid rankings. The schedule tightens from here. The Skiers play at Basalt on Tuesday, with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m. They host Moffat County on Thursday before heading to Coal Ridge on Saturday. The regular season concludes on Oct. 27 with a home matchup against Vail Christian.

A home playoff game remains possible for the program, which hosted and won its regional last fall to advance to the state tournament.

The rest of the local high school sports scene is winding down as well, with fall seasons reaching their conclusion across the district. For volleyball, the focus shifts entirely to seeding and playoff positioning in these final two weeks. The Skiers’ perfect league record ensures they hold a strong seed, but the road to a state berth will depend on how they handle the remaining conference opponents and the non-conference slate.

The gym at AHS has been a steady anchor for the team’s home games, with players like Suki Manuel, Ava Braley, and Andrea Lee contributing to the defensive blocks and point celebrations that define their current run. The team’s ability to close out sets against competitive opponents like Middle Park suggests a level of composure that will be tested in the postseason.

As the calendar turns toward late October, the attention of local fans will remain on the Skiers’ final regular-season games. The outcome against Vail Christian on Oct. 27 will likely determine their final seed and home-court advantage for the regional round. Until then, the 11-0 league record stands as a marker of consistency in a competitive conference.
