Montrose, CO — The City of Montrose’s annual fall leaf cleanup will run from Monday, October 26, through Thursday, December 3. City crews will make weekly collection rounds throughout the city. The service is free for City of Montrose utility customers.
Starting Monday, October 12, bundles of five clear leaf bags will be available for $2.00 per bundle, while supplies last, at City Hall, 400 East Main Street, and the Public Works office, 1221 64.50 Road.
To help the limited supply serve more residents, each utility customer may purchase a maximum of three bundles, totaling 15 bags, for this year’s program. This limit applies to combined purchases across all visits and both locations.
Residents may use city-purchased bags or supply their own clear plastic or compostable paper leaf bags. The purchase limit applies only to city-sold bags; it does not limit the number of properly filled bags eligible for collection.
Only leaves and grass clippings will be accepted. Filled bags must be placed behind the curb, out of the street and gutter.
No appointment is necessary for weekly collection. Residents who need a scheduled pickup because of HOA restrictions or similar circumstances may contact City Hall at 970.240.1400 or Public Works at 970.240.1480.
City of Montrose Public Works staff thanks residents for participating and reminds them never to rake leaves into streets or storm drains, in accordance with Sec. 3-7-2 of the city’s Municipal Code.
