Durango, CO: **Residents are invited to attend a meeting on the latest design plans for the West Park Avenue Traffic Calming project on Monday, Aug. 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Durango Public Library.
City staff will present the current design, share updates, and gather community feedback on the project and aesthetic elements of the pilot installation.
The project aims to make roadway improvements by installing traffic-slowing measures at intersections and along West Park Avenue, improve pedestrian safety and access with new paths and sidewalk connectivity, and provide bike connectivity to the Avenida Del Sol intersection.
The 30% plans were presented to the community in 2024 and were refined based on neighborhood feedback. This meeting will share updates made from the 30% plans to the 60% plans, discuss opportunities to update the pilot installation in the area, and gather feedback to shape the final design for this project. For accessibility and accommodation, the city will have Spanish interpretation and some quiet activities for children available on site.
The City of Durango wants to ensure that all voices are heard while we work together to build a safe, connected community for all to enjoy.
