About
Box Cañon Falls Park in Ouray offers a developed, easy hike to a 285-foot waterfall where Canyon Creek thunders through a narrow quartzite gorge. The primary route is a short, mostly flat walk of about 500 feet leading to a concrete walkway with railings along the canyon walls. Visitors can also access the High Bridge Trail, a half-mile loop gaining 200 feet that provides views of the Amphitheater Cirque peaks and Ouray. The park features a visitor center with interpretive exhibits, restrooms, and parking. Black Swifts, a vulnerable species, nest in the area during the summer and early fall. Dogs are not permitted on the trails. Entry fees apply for adults.
