Chasm View is a moderate fall hiking destination located in Boulder, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The trail offers views of the Black Canyon from its north rim, including sightlines to Painted Wall and Serpent Point. The hike is approximately 2 hours long with a moderate difficulty level, involving some elevation gain as the trail exits pinyon/juniper forest to reach overlooks about 1,800 feet above the river. Accessible from September through November, the trailhead is situated at the end of Black Canyon Road near Crawford. Parking is available in a designated area, and pets are permitted. The site allows for camping, including dispersed options and huts within Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Hikers may observe swifts and swallows along the route.
