Cold Springs Campground is a small, popular site located approximately 16.5 miles outside Yampa, Colorado, within the Flat Tops Wilderness area of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. The campground operates from May through September at an elevation near 10,253 feet. It features a loop with five campsites that include tent pads, fire grates or rings, and picnic tables. A crystal clear creek flows through the site, providing potable water access via hydrants. The terrain is moderate, with gravel interior roads and parking available for paid campers. Pets are welcome, though horses and pack animals are not permitted at this specific location. The site serves as a base for hiking, fishing, and accessing nearby Yamcolo Reservoir and the Devil's Causeway. Facilities include vault toilets and trash service. Most sites are shaded by aspen and lodgepole pine trees, with a maximum vehicle length of 40 feet accommodated. There are no RV water connections or electric hookups.
