The Coopers Ranch River Trail is a short connector route in the Curecanti National Recreation Area, located west of Gunnison along the Gunnison River. The trail spans approximately 0.2 miles with an elevation gain of roughly 22 feet, rising from 7,533 feet to 7,563 feet. It is classified as easy and allows hiking and leashed dogs, but prohibits bikes, horses, and motorized vehicles. Parking is available at the trailhead. The area features mature cottonwood forests and is noted for wildlife viewing, including muskrats, beavers, and diverse bird species. The trail is accessible year-round, though hikers should monitor for high water during spring runoff.
