About

Edge Cutoff West is a 1.4-mile moderate hiking loop in the North Fruita Desert, starting just north of Edge Cutoff East on 18 6/10 Rd. The trail climbs gradually, winding through small washes and avoiding dense shrubbery. At roughly one-third of a mile, it crosses a dirt road before descending into a gully and emerging onto an open area with views. From there, the route descends quickly to another wash, where hikers should watch for cactus just off the trail. The trail then ascends lazily to intersect with Chutes & Ladders. Parking is available at the trailhead.
