About
Erickson Springs Campground is a moderate difficulty, first-come, first-served site located in Somerset, Colorado, within the Gunnison National Forest. Situated at 6,800 feet elevation along Anthracite Creek, the campground offers a dense spruce and fir forest setting that receives limited sunlight. This shade keeps temperatures cooler than the surrounding areas during the May through September operating season. The 18 primitive campsites feature tent pads, picnic tables, and combination fire rings or grills. Smaller camping trailers are accommodated on-site. A public restroom and running water are available in a picnic area adjacent to the campground, alongside separate parking for ATVs and horse trailers. Direct access to hiking trails includes the Dark Canyon Trailhead (Trail #830) located just past the campground. OHV users can access Raggeds Trail (#820) via Forest Road #795. The site is pet-friendly and typically requires about two hours for a visit.
