Escalator is a 0.5-mile singletrack spur off Elk Run in the Cerro Summit Recreation Area near Montrose, Colorado. Designed primarily for downhill bikes, the trail serves as the quickest access to the upper trailhead. It begins at the lower end of Elk Run, zigzagging up the hillside and crisscrossing the Porcupine trail. The route is rated moderate (blue square) and sits at an elevation of approximately 8,119 feet. Parking is available, and dogs are allowed. The trail is typically open from April through October.
