Located on Red Mountain at an elevation of 6,785 feet, the trail offers a typical duration of about two hours. It is accessible from September through November and features parking at the trailhead. The route is dog friendly and allows two-way traffic for bikes and hikers, though the Lower Grandstaff section is downhill only. The terrain consists of smooth singletrack and rocky sections with bermed turns. The trail intersects the Cross Trail at five or six four-way intersections, which can be busy with runners.
