The Highline Lake Trail is a 3.3-mile unpaved loop near Loma, Colorado, that circumnavigates Highline Lake within Highline Lake State Park. The trail begins at the East Boat Ramp and follows the park boundary, featuring a gravel surface with an elevation gain of 415 feet. It is generally considered a moderate route, typically taking about 1 hour and 5 minutes to complete. The trail is suitable for hiking and mountain biking year-round, though April through November offers the best conditions. The area is known for shore bird and mule deer viewing. Water is not available along the entire trail; hikers should fill bottles at the Visitor Center, Day Use Area, or Bookcliff Campground on the east side. Parking is available at the trailhead. The trail connects to other loops, such as the East Bluffs Loop and the 18 Hour Trail, allowing for extended routes.
