Island Lake is a popular fishing spot located on Grand Mesa, at an elevation of 10,000 feet. The easy access and gentle terrain make it suitable for visitors of all skill levels. The lake is typically accessible from April through October, although trail conditions may be snowy or icy during the early and late parts of the season. Visitors can expect to spend around 4 hours exploring the area, and amenities such as parking and restrooms are available, with pets also permitted to accompany their owners.
