Accessible via Forest Road 585 off Highway 550 (Million Dollar Highway), the site sits at an elevation of 9,484 feet. The terrain is rocky and open, allowing for flexible placement of tents and RVs, with reports of vehicles up to 50 feet navigating the entrance. Water and firewood are not provided on-site, requiring self-sufficiency. Vault toilets are available seasonally. Cell service is generally available from Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, though streaming may be inconsistent. The area is pet-friendly and has a 14-day stay limit. Road noise from passing vehicles is present during the day but diminishes at night. Wildlife, including moose, has been observed in the creek.
