Lupine is a 3.7-mile hiking and mountain biking trail located in the Saddle Ridge development, approximately two miles north of Crested Butte, Colorado. The trail reaches an elevation of 8,396 feet and is rated moderate in difficulty, typically taking about two hours to complete. It is part of the Crested Butte town trails system, offering access without requiring a vehicle from downtown. The route features lupine wildflowers in June and July and provides views of Nicholson Lake. Parking is available at the trailhead. The trail is open year-round, from January through December, though conditions vary with potential snow and ice in winter months. It is managed by the Town of Crested Butte and allows leashed dogs.
