About

Pet-e-Kes is a technical climbing trail in Grand Junction’s Lunch Loop system, connecting Eagle’s Tail to High Noon. The 1.2-mile route gains approximately 460 feet of elevation at a steady 9% grade. Riders primarily ascend this trail rather than descending it. The surface is hard-packed dirt with rocky, technical sections. The trail is sensitive to moisture because it is constructed largely from expansive soil that becomes slippery when wet. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are allowed. The trail is open from April through October.
