Rusty Buckets is a 2-mile singletrack mountain biking trail located in the Dry Creek Recreation Area near Montrose, Colorado. Classified as a moderate green-difficulty route, it serves as a connector within the Buzzard Gulch Trails system. The trail begins off the Bull Snake trail and climbs gradually to an intersection with the Broken Antler and Dakota Rim trails. The upper section features some doubletrack and runs close to a shooting range near Dave Wood Road. Riders can identify the trail’s namesake buckets near the summit. The route is approximately 1.9 to 2 miles long and typically takes 12 minutes to complete. It is accessible from April through October, with parking available on-site. Dogs are permitted, though off-leash rules may vary by specific zone management. The trail is rated easy to intermediate, offering a reliable ascent or descent option within the local trail network.
