About
Sam's Spam is a 90-foot (27 m) sport climb located in the Ridgway Dike Wall near Ouray, Colorado. Rated 5.9+, it is the leftmost route in the belay gully on a dead vertical face. The route was retro-bolted in 2011 and is considered a classic top-rope option for the area. Climbers start up a left-trending ramp for several bolts, navigate a face crux, and pull through juggy, airy overhangs before clipping the anchor near a pinyon tree. Protection consists of approximately a dozen bolts leading to a ring anchor backed up by a tree. The climb is pet-friendly and has parking available. The elevation is 8,958 feet. GPS coordinates are 38.1141, -107.7179.
