The Ouray Via Ferrata Trailhead provides a moderate hiking and climbing experience in the Uncompahgre Gorge near Ridgway, Colorado. The route begins off the Ice Park Loop Trail at the south end of the Funteran access trail, crossing the Uncompahgre River and continuing north to end just past the Upper Bridge. The trail features narrow ledges, rung sections across blank rock, climbs, descents, and cable traverses protected by a continuous safety cable. The typical duration is about two hours, with an elevation of 8,069 feet. Access is available from September through November, though the facility generally operates May through October. Parking is provided at the trailhead. The route is free for public use, and pets are allowed.
