Shapeshifting Master of Darkness is a V9 boulder problem located in the Skyland Boulders area of Crested Butte, Colorado. The problem sits on Supernatural Boulder, which is situated along the base of Mount Crested Butte above the Skyland neighborhood. Access is via Tony’s Trail from town to Upper Loop. The boulder is approximately 10 feet (3 meters) high. To climb it, start with the first few moves of the adjacent Supernatural problem, then traverse hard left across crimps, avoiding the arete to top out further left. The difficulty is moderate for a V9, though perceived effort varies based on the climber's height and flexibility. Parking is available in the area, and pets are permitted. The Skyland Boulders are generally uncrowded and offer quality rock.
