Silver Stage is a multi-pitch rock climbing route near Silverton, Colorado, located at an elevation of 11,881 feet. The climb features greenish-colored slab and buttress rock with lichen coverage, situated right of the Gold Rush ice climb. The route consists of four pitches with a total difficulty rating of Grade II for experienced climbers and Grade III for others. The initial pitch is rated 5.10c, followed by pitches ranging from 5.8 to 5.9 R. A popular variation combines the third and fourth pitches into a steeper, sportier 5.10 climb. Climbers should expect loose rock on pitches three and four, making helmets essential. The descent requires either three rappels using one 70-meter rope or two 60-meter ropes, with a new rap line available from the second pitch anchor. The typical duration is about seven hours. Parking is available, and pets are permitted. Due to the high altitude and remoteness in the San Juan Mountains, temperatures can change quickly. The area is accessible year-round.
