Spinney Mountain State Park in Lake George is a day-use destination centered on a 2,444-acre reservoir known for Gold Medal fishing. The area offers hiking trails that traverse forest and open meadows, with fall foliage typically peaking between September and November. The hike is moderate, lasting approximately two hours, and traverses terrain that can be dry and dusty. Visitors access the trails from a parking area and can utilize restrooms. The park is pet-friendly for leashed dogs and allows horses. While primarily noted for fishing trophy-sized trout and northern pike, the site also provides views of the Collegiate Peaks and opportunities for birding and picnicking. The park is open from spring ice-off through November 15.
