About
Swerve is a 1.3-mile downhill mountain biking trail located on Animas Mountain in Durango, Colorado. Built by Durango Trails in the fall of 2022, it connects the Animas Mountain Trail loop to Dalla Mountain Park. The trail features a machine-built surface with large sweeping berms, banked turns, and short hilly sections. Riders encounter a generally smooth surface with rock-hardened bumps over roots. The route descends through pine trees, scrub oak, and charred logs from a recent prescribed burn. Views extend south over Durango and the surrounding hills, including glimpses of the Hermosa Valley. The trail is classified as moderate difficulty and is open from April through October. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are permitted. Hikers and uphill bikers share the path, so riders should remain aware of other users.
