About
The Road To Zion is a sport climbing route located within Rifle Mountain Park, a narrow limestone canyon along East Rifle Creek roughly 30 minutes from the town of Rifle. The specific route is graded 5.12b. Rifle Mountain Park is widely recognized for having one of the highest concentrations of high-grade sport routes in the United States, particularly in the 5.12 to 5.14 range. The rock is Leadville limestone, characterized by pockets, crimps, and pinches rather than large jugs. The climbing style here is often described as complex and endurance-focused, with routes that are generally long and slightly to very overhanging. The area is fairly crowded on weekends during the primary climbing season, which runs from May through September. Parking is available at the park, and the site is pet-friendly. The elevation of the climbing area is approximately 7,085 feet.
