The Second Coming is a short, thin trad route located in the Grand Junction area of Colorado’s Western Slope. The route sits at an elevation of 7,445 feet and measures 40 feet in length. It is positioned immediately to the right of the Short, Cupped Hands crack, right where the approach trail meets the cliff face. The climb features a finger crack that begins with good fingers and large, sandy feet. As the route progresses, the feet disappear and the crack thins, requiring big moves between finger locks. The route finishes with more big moves and some feet. Historically an aid route known as Fingers of Death, it is now climbed as trad. Protection consists of fingers and smaller pieces, with specific recommendations for Camalots, TCUs, and Alenrs. Climbers lower from chains with fixed carabiners. The route is pet-friendly, and parking is available on site.
