About
The Turkey Flats Loop is a 9.5-mile mountain biking trail located in the Glade Park area of Grand Junction, Colorado, within the Grand Mesa National Forest. The trail is classified as difficult and typically takes about three hours to complete. It sits at an elevation of 4,593 feet and is accessible from April through October. The route consists of approximately 70 percent singletrack with a short section on a Forest Service road. Riders encounter loose dirt, rocks, and roots, particularly in the uphill sections, which can make the trail more challenging than expected for beginner and intermediate riders. The trail winds through aspen stands and thick pine forests, passing a reservoir in the middle of the ride. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are allowed on the trail. The drive to the trail offers views of the Uncompahgre River and canyons in Utah. Bug spray is recommended for riders.
