About

Upper Access to Power Up is a mountain biking trail in Montrose, Colorado, serving as a connector between the Electric Hills Upper Trailhead and the Power Up Trail in Linscott Canyon. The route functions as a half loop, allowing riders to link these segments. Access begins by traveling uphill on C.R. 90 for approximately 0.5 miles from the upper trailhead, then turning left onto a rough dirt road. The path leads past a seasonal, ditch-fed waterfall water crossing before heading left toward the mesa edge, where singletrack begins at the north end of Amp Ridge Trail. The trail meanders along the mesa edge before taking a sharp right through a camping area to reach the Power Up Trail descent. Riders should watch for cactus. The trail is rated moderate difficulty and sits at an elevation of 5,809 feet. It is open from April through October, with closures from December 1 to April 15 for wintering big game. Parking is available near the access point, and the area is pet friendly.
