The route gains roughly 437 feet in elevation and is classified as difficult or moderately challenging. It is suitable for hiking, mountain biking, and horses, with dogs permitted on a leash. The trail is managed by the USFS Gunnison Ranger District. Wildlife, wildflowers, and scenic views are common features. The best times to visit are from May through October. Parking is available at the trailhead.
