About

The historic Pilot Building in downtown Steamboat Springs houses the press, a music venue and bar that occupies the space where Northwest Colorado’s first newspaper operated from 1909 to 1999. The venue name honors that rich history of shared stories within its walls while fostering a dynamic environment for live performances. Guests experience high-quality acoustics powered by an Allen & Heath Digital Soundboard, QSC monitors, and a Mapex drum kit, allowing the space to shift seamlessly from intimate listening room settings to packed dance floors.

The weekly schedule anchors the local social scene with Tuesday Night Free Trivia starting at 6:30 pm and Singo Music Bingo every Wednesday at 6 PM. The lineup features a diverse array of acts, including alt-country roots-rock group The Matt Skinner Band, Southern rock and Americana band Uncle Lucius on their 20th Anniversary Tour, soulful guitarist Jeremiah Roiko, and the Colorado sound of The Flattops. Past performances have included Grammy Award Winners Mark D. Sanders and Shawn Camp, alongside Grammy Nominated Verlon Thompson.

Cocktails and a range of drinks complement the musical offerings, creating a memorable experience for patrons 21 and above. The venue maintains a reputation as one of the best music venues in the region, combining technical precision with a warm atmosphere. Whether enjoying a midweek pick-me-up or catching a major act, visitors find a safe and fun environment defined by its commitment to quality sound and community engagement.
