They need people to sign up. So the list is whoever bothered, which skews toward the families already most engaged and misses renters, new arrivals, and households where nobody read the August packet.

A quarter of your population leaves every spring and a new quarter arrives every fall. Any system that depends on students enrolling starts over each year and never quite finishes, which is why campus notification coverage is always lower in September than anybody wants to admit.
Students already use local apps for events, food, and the outdoors. That audience does not have to be rebuilt, and the neighbours never signed up for your list in the first place.

A campus incident is rarely only a campus incident. Your safety office, the municipal police department, and the county emergency manager can work the same incident on one timeline, each posting under their own name, without anybody forwarding screenshots.

Questions we get
Our county is talking to you as well. Are we covered by them?
No, and that is deliberate. A school district is its own entity with its own board and its own budget, and a county cannot buy your software for you. What does connect is operations: during a wildfire or a lockdown your district and the county emergency manager can work the same incident together. Budgets separate, response joined up.
Is the free part really free?
Yes, and there is no trial and no per seat charge. Publishing, your board notices, your calendar, safety alerts, families following a school, and reading anything in Spanish are all free for any verified district or institution. The paid plan adds running an event rather than sending a message, and being able to prove afterwards what you sent.
We already have a notification system.
Most districts do. The question worth asking is how many of your families it actually reaches, and how you know. We will tell you our number for your district before you sign anything. If your contract runs to June, we would rather talk in April than pretend otherwise.
How do families end up following our schools?
They tell us, in the app. It is free, it takes a tap, and it is what lets you reach the families of one school rather than everybody within a radius. We also promote it from your public page, and you can link it from your own site and your August packet.
What about families who do not use the app?
Text messages, at what they cost us rather than at a markup. Most of your families will be reachable through the app for nothing, which is usually the surprise: the text bill turns out much smaller than the one being paid today.
Who can see what, inside the district?
You decide. Each school can have its own page and team with only the tools that school needs, so a principal posts school news while only the district office can send a lockdown. You can require your communications director to approve before an office publishes.
What happens to what we publish?
It is kept exactly as it read when it went out, and later edits are stored beside the original rather than replacing it. When somebody asks what you posted and when, the answer is a record rather than a memory. It exports.
How do we pay?
Annual invoice, net 30, purchase order accepted, and we can start on your fiscal year rather than ours. Nobody is asked to put a subscription on a card.
