Gypsum Daze hosts Ashley McBryde and Chayce Beckham while Beaver Creek’s Vilar Center features Maren Morris, offering diverse concert options in the Vail Valley.

The air in Gypsum still holds the day’s heat as the sun dips behind the Elk Mountains. Dust settles on the asphalt of the fairgrounds. The smell of fried dough and diesel from the generators hangs heavy in the valley.
This weekend, the Vail Valley isn’t just waking up. It’s throwing a party.
The town of Gypsum is hosting its annual Gypsum Daze. It’s billed as big fun in a small town. That’s not marketing fluff. It’s a description of the scale. The events are mostly free. The parade rolls through town. Classic cars line the streets. A youth talent show fills the afternoon.
But the real draw is the music.
Gypsum Daze has a history of booking country heavyweights. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band played here. Rascal Flats played here. LeAnn Rimes played here. This year, the spotlight falls on Ashley McBryde. She opens for Chayce Beckham.
McBryde is no newcomer to awards season. She has a Grammy. She has multiple Country Music and Academy of Country Music awards. Her hit “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” earned her that Grammy. It’s a duet with Carly Pearce. Beckham, meanwhile, won the nineteenth season of “American Idol.” He was the first winner to take home the title with an original song, “23.” He’ll likely play that track. He’ll play “Everything I Need.” He’ll play “This Ol’ Rodeo.”
Tickets for the concert start at $38.50 for general admission. If you want the VIP treatment, it’ll cost you $153.50. Gates open at 6 p.m. Music starts at 7 p.m.
Bring a blanket. Low-legged lawn chairs are allowed. High-backed chairs are not. You can’t bring your own food or drinks. You’ll pay for what you consume on-site. The Vail Daily reports that more details and ticket sales are available at townofgypsum.com.
Meanwhile, in Beaver Creek, the Vilar Performing Arts Center is preparing for a different kind of crowd.
Maren Morris takes the stage on Friday. She’s not just a country hit-maker. She’s a Grammy winner. She has five Academy of Country Music Awards. She has five Country Music Association Awards. She has three Billboard Music Awards. Her sound is distinct. It’s in songs like “The Middle” and “My Church.” She’s toured globally. She’s shared stages with Taylor Swift, Stevie Nicks, and Sheryl Crow.
The Vilar Center is intimate. It holds around 530 seats. That’s a fraction of the capacity at the nearby Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Shows sell out faster here. If you want to see Morris, you need to move now. Limited availability remains.
The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra follows on July 19. They’ll bring big band nostalgia to the same venue.
This isn’t just a list of dates. It’s a reminder of how the valley operates. You have the gritty, grassroots energy of Gypsum. You have the polished, high-end production of Beaver Creek. Both happen within a twenty-minute drive of each other.
The weather will be hot. The traffic will be heavy. The parking lots will be full.
That’s the trade-off for the music.
