La Plata County and the City of Durango provide cleanup resources, recovery information, and emergency relief funds for residents affected by recent flooding.

Durango, CO: **Residents whose homes were damaged by recent flooding can find cleanup resources, recovery information, and available programs on the La Plata County webpage created specifically for recent flooding.

The “2026 Flood” page includes information on disaster recovery, including water safety, mold prevention, cleaning kits for flooded homes, and more.

Residents are encouraged to visit the site regularly, as information will continue to be updated while recovery efforts progress. For the latest information on the regional response to the flood, please visit www.lpcgov.org or call the La Plata County Office of Emergency Management at 970-385-8700.

The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado has also opened the La Plata Community Emergency Relief Fund to assist residents and communities across La Plata County affected by this week’s flooding.

City staff continue to work throughout affected areas, primarily by cleaning debris from area roads. The city’s water and sewer treatment plants have not been affected and continue to function. Road assessments will continue as water levels fall. Residents can use the city’s “SeeClickFix” platform to report areas that need assistance by city staff.

The City is also working with local, state, and federal partners to identify additional assistance opportunities that may become available in the coming weeks and months. A local emergency declaration was made Monday, Nov. 2, which provides the city the authority and flexibility to quickly access and spend available resources, if needed, to respond to emergency conditions, protect public safety, and support recovery efforts related to flooding.
