The City of Grand Junction is proud to join communities across the country in celebrating America's 250th anniversary and Colorado's 150th anniversary of statehood. Residents and visitors are invited to take part in Independence Day traditions and community events that commemorate these historic milestones.
Grand Junction's Fourth of July festivities kick off the City's participation in the yearlong America 250/Colorado 150 celebration, culminating with a signature community event on Oct. 10.
Downtown Fourth of July Parade
The celebration begins with the Downtown Fourth of July Parade, hosted by the Downtown Development Authority, beginning at 10 a.m. along Main Street. Colorful floats, music, community organizations, and live performances will fill Downtown as the parade travels from 1st Street to 9th Street.
Family-Friendly Fun at Lincoln Park
Families can cool off during the Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool Fourth of July Celebration. In honor of America's 250th birthday, admission is just $2.50 on July 4. The outdoor pool features lap lanes, diving boards, a splash area for younger children, and a water slide.
Lincoln Park also offers expansive green spaces, playgrounds, picnic areas, and shaded gathering spots, making it the perfect place to spend the afternoon before heading to the evening festivities.
Baseball and Fireworks
There's no better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than with some baseball followed by one of the largest fireworks displays on the Western Slope. The Grand Junction Razorback Suckers host the Tucson Saguaros at Suplizio Field.
Following the game, the City of Grand Junction invites the community to enjoy its annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration. As one of Grand Junction’s most anticipated Independence Day traditions, the spectacular display will light up the night sky over Lincoln Park, providing a memorable finale to a full day of community festivities.
The City contracts with licensed professional to launch the fireworks display in coordination with the City's public safety teams. Based on current conditions, fire officials have determined the show can safely proceed as planned. Conditions will continue to be monitored leading up to the event, and any necessary adjustments will be made to ensure public safety.
Whether you're watching from Suplizio Field, Lincoln Park, or a nearby neighborhood, the City's Fourth of July fireworks show is a spectacular way to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.
Grand Junction 250/150: A Main Street Celebration
The celebration continues on Thursday, July 23, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., as the City of Grand Junction hosts Grand Junction 250/150: A Main Street Celebration during the Main Street Farmers Market.
This free, family-friendly event celebrates the people, partnerships, and community spirit that have shaped Grand Junction. Residents are invited to meet City leaders, connect with neighbors, enjoy live music, explore historic photos, and experience hands-on activities for all ages.
Families can enjoy a Touch-a-Truck experience, games and activities, and be among the first 250 guests to receive a complimentary Wave drink while supplies last.
Save the Date: America 250/Colorado 150 Finale
The community-wide celebration continues this fall with Water Lights at Night on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Butterfly Pond in Las Colonias Park.
Following the lantern release, attendees will experience the Grand Junction America 250 | Colorado 150 Drone Show, one of Colorado's signature statewide commemorative events. Hundreds of drones will illuminate the night sky with a choreographed light show celebrating 250 years of American history and 150 years of Colorado statehood.
