Contractors working for the City of Montrose will be closing the intersection of Rio Grande and East Oak Grove starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 27, to complete reconstruction of the intersection and final tie-ins to the new roundabout.
Traffic will be detoured to the nearest main roads as shown in the attached figure. Local access to nearby businesses, facilities, and parks (Wendys, Apollo Road, Riverbottom, etc) will remain open throughout the closure, but it will not be possible for vehicles to make it through the intersection (curve) of Rio Grande and East Oak Grove Road. The closure is expected to last into mid-September.
The city asks that motorists and pedestrians please slow down through work areas and respect all closed-off areas. Any questions regarding the project may be directed to City Engineer Scott Murphy at (970) 901-1792 or [email protected].
