**Steamboat Springs, Colorado-October 23, 2026-**In Steamboat Springs, where snowfall is measured in feet (hopefully this year!), seasonal parking restrictions begin in November to help crews keep streets, lots and alleyways clear, safe and accessible all winter.
“We’re asking everyone to do their part by following the winter parking requirements, which take effect Sunday, November 1,” said Streets Superintendent David Van Winkle. “Keeping streets clear and safe for travel is a top priority throughout the winter, and community cooperation makes a significant difference in helping our crews do their jobs efficiently.”
Snow piles up quickly in Steamboat Springs, and parked vehicles can slow down or block plowing operations. To ensure efficient snow removal, overnight parking is prohibited on city streets and shoulders from November 1 through April 30. Parking enforcement remains in effect even when it isn’t actively snowing, as crews often continue clearing and relocating snow between storms. Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and/or towed. Parking citations can be paid online.

“Throughout the winter season, we encourage everyone to stay familiar with local parking regulations and posted signs,” said Community Service Supervisor Krista Amatuzio. “Following these restrictions helps keep streets clear, allows crews to remove snow efficiently and keeps our roads safer and more accessible for everyone.”
The city prioritizes snow removal based on public safety and traffic volumes, beginning with emergency access routes, transit corridors, and commercial areas before moving into residential neighborhoods. Parking complaints can be reported to Police Dispatch at 970-879-1144.
