The Bobcat to Duncan 5-Miler is a 4.9-mile loop hike located near Olathe and Delta on Colorado’s Western Slope. The route is classified as difficult and typically takes about three hours to complete. The trail begins where Sidewinder Trail intersects Bobcat Road. Hikers proceed north on Sidewinder Trail to Duncan Road, turn right to climb uphill, and connect with the Red Rocks/Nighthorse Trail. From there, the trail returns to Bobcat Road, leading downhill back to the starting point. The elevation gain reaches 6,578 feet. Views include the valley, the San Juan Mountains, and the Gunnison River. Parking is available at the trailhead. Access requires a vehicle with reasonable ground clearance; Subarus are sufficient. The trail is open year-round.
