About

The Eccher Gulch Trail is a moderate, looped hiking route located in Almont, Gunnison County, Colorado. The trail covers 5.7 kilometers (approximately 3.6 miles) with an elevation gain of 312 meters (about 1,024 feet). Hikers typically complete the loop in roughly one hour and forty minutes. The route begins by ascending Forest Service Road 813.2A before connecting to the Roaring Judy Trail. The climb is steady, leading to a saddle between Round and Cement Mountains. From the saddle, the trail descends through aspen groves and pine forests before exiting near a highway access gate. The trail is accessible year-round, though summer conditions can cause the path to become overgrown and difficult to spot. Parking is available at the trailhead.
