About

The Falls Trail in Ouray leads to Lower Cascade Falls, the lowest of a seven-waterfall series on Cascade Creek. This short, out-and-back hike begins at the end of 8th Avenue, where a dedicated public parking lot is located on the east side of town. The route follows a short, unpaved pathway that climbs moderately through a scenic canyon to reach the roaring waterfall. The trail is accessible year-round and is considered one of the most easily accessible waterfall hikes in the area, suitable for families and beginners. The best time to visit is during spring and early summer when snowmelt provides the strongest flow. While some sources cite the distance as 0.1 miles, others describe it as a short trail with approximately 200 feet of elevation gain over a 0.6-mile distance. The trail passes through a box canyon setting.
