Harvey Gap State Park offers a moderate fall hiking experience, with trails that take visitors through a mix of terrain, including hills and valleys surrounding a large reservoir. The 2-hour hike is suitable for those with some hiking experience, and the route is generally well-marked and maintained, although trail conditions can be dry and rocky in the fall season. From September through November, the park's trails provide scenic views of the surrounding landscape, with the changing foliage of the trees and shrubs adding to the visual interest. Visitors can access the trails from the parking area and take advantage of the available restrooms, and pets are also permitted in the park.
