About

The Lower Cascade Falls Viewpoint Spur is a short, moderately difficult out-and-back hiking trail located in Ouray, Colorado. The trailhead sits at the end of 8th Avenue, where it dead-ends into a dedicated public parking lot on the east side of town. This location provides ample parking and restroom facilities nearby. The route spans approximately 0.3 to 0.5 miles round trip with an elevation gain of about 110 feet, leading hikers through a scenic canyon to the base of a 330-foot waterfall. The path is unpaved, rocky, and features a footbridge crossing Cascade Creek. Access is generally year-round, though snow can limit access between November and February. The trail is suitable for families and beginners due to its short distance, though the rocky surface requires steady footing. Dogs are permitted on a leash.
