About
Painted Hand Pueblo is an Ancestral Puebloan ruin located in the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument near Pleasant View, Colorado. The site consists of a small village with approximately 20 rooms constructed around AD 1200. The hike to the pueblo is classified as moderate difficulty and takes about 2 hours to complete. The trail is an out-and-back route suitable for all skill levels. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are allowed. There are no restrooms or water sources at the site. The area is managed by the BLM Tres Rios Field Office. Visitors should check for current conditions, as evacuation orders or other alerts may apply.
