The Painted Hand Trail is a moderate, approximately 2-hour hike located in Pleasant View, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The route leads to an Ancestral Puebloan ruin known as Painted Hand Pueblo, which serves as the primary destination for visitors. The trail is accessible year-round but is particularly suited for fall hiking from September through November, when weather conditions are generally favorable. Hikers can park on site and bring pets along the path. Restrooms are available at the trailhead, though drinking water is not provided on the trail itself. The terrain is considered moderately difficult and suitable for all skill levels, with an elevation of 6,052 feet. The trailhead is situated within the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, near the Manager BLM Tres Rios Field Office.
