“One of the most beloved endurance events on the western slope. ”
Adobe is not a one-off trail. It is typically used as part of a loop with the Overlook trail, either incorporating Kokopelli Trail, Zion Curtain, or the full-blown Rabbit Valley Holy Grail. The trail is located in the western end of Rabbit Valley, below Western Mesa. It begins on a doubletrack road descending from the mesa at a left fork. The trail winds through some scrub pine before climbing up to a ridge line. The climb incorporates a steep section. The trail then begins a fun, descending traverse down the ridge eventually descending back to the valley floor. After winding along the floor of Rabbit Valley, Adobe intersects a doubletrack road across which is Western Rim. A left on the doubletrack connects to Kokopelli Trail as described in Rabbit Valley to Western Rim.

The Arch Loop trail must be accessed from either the Overlook trail or the Kokopelli Trail. It is great when combined with Western Mesa and Overlook for a lollipop loop. The best access to the trail is from I70 at the Westwater exit #227 just west of the Colorado, Utah border. 1/4 mile from the exit along Harley Dome Road (BLM 192) take the first left turn onto a doubletrack through a light industrial area. After 1/2 mile the doubletrack forks. Go right and in another 1/2 mile, the road intersects the Kokopelli Trail at another fork. This is a good place to park if driving a low-clearance vehicle. Go left onto Kokopelli Trail at this fork for another 1/4 mile to another good parking space on the left overlooking the Kokopelli Trail climb from Rabbit Valley. This road ends at a primitive campground on the rim of the mesa. The Overlook trail begins on the left side of the doubletrack about 800' beyond Kokopelli Trail. Take either of these trails to Arch Loop. If utilizing the Kokopelli Trail, hike 4 1/2 miles from the top of the steep climb out of Rabbit Valley. When the trail begins to orient more to the west and enters an area characterized by bare, greyish shale, look for a fork to the left back to the east. This road connects to a low saddle between Overlook and Western Mesa trails, and the beginning of the Arch Loop. The Arch Loop is located on the western leg of this junction. The trail winds counterclockwise in and out of numerous drainages. There is a junction with a non-system singletrack midway through the loop which drops down to Harley Dome Road. Near the end of the loop, the trail crosses a small natural bridge from whence the trail gets its name. After the natural bridge, the trail continues nearly due south to a doubletrack. Go hard left onto the doubletrack and return to the low saddle, or continue south to the Western Mesa trail. From the low saddle continue on to either the or the Overlook back to the vehicle.

ORDINARY ELEPHANT Mesmerizing folk duo Ordinary Elephant has spent the better part of the last decade on a never-ending our that’s earned married couple Crystal and Pete Damore widespread critical acclaim and made fans of luminaries like Tom Paxton and Mary Gauthier. In 2017, the pair took home the International Folk Music Award for Artist of the Year on the strength of their breakout album, Before I Go, and two years later, they returned with the similarly lauded Honest, which the Associated Press hailed as “one of the best Americana albums of the year.” The band’s new stripped-down, self-titled collection is the purest distillation of their sound yet, showcasing the arresting power of the couple’s gorgeous harmonies and intricate fretwork. The songs are timeless, rooted in rich, character-driven storytelling, and the performances are similarly transportive, fueled by delicately intertwined banjo, guitar, and octave mandolin. Though the songs were born out of a period of deep uncertainty, the record itself is a work of profound self-assurance, one delivered by a duo whose personal and professional lives embody the limitless possibility of honest, organic collaboration. Press play on Ordinary Elephant and you’ll hear more than just a husband and wife; you’ll hear the sound of sincerity and commitment, of patience and gratitude, of learning to let go of expectation and revel in the simple beauty of the moment.
Experience an emotionally immersive evening of original music for piano and ambient electronics with composer-pianist Philip Daniel. Blending cinematic composition, live looping, and atmospheric soundscapes, this transportive concert unfolds as a continuous 90-minute journey designed to be deeply moving, meditative, and reflective. Often described by audiences as both healing and powerful, the performance invites listeners into a space of stillness, beauty, and emotional connection — a live music experience that lingers long after the final note.

Join us for an amazing night of live music in an unforgettable space! Doors open at 7pm. NPR’s All Songs Considered describes Sturtz as “a reassuring breath of fresh air that pulls me back to simpler times." The quartet – Andrew Sturtz [vocals, guitar], Courtlyn Carpenter [cello, harmonies], Will Kuepper [bass, piano, harmonies], and Jim Herlihy [banjo, electric guitar, harmonies] - is serene and folksy, with melodic vocals soaring over the lower string instrumentals. Sturtz just released their second studio album Hyacinth in September 2024, and they're excited to tour on this album for the next year. When they’re not playing music, you’ll probably find them milling flour, gardening, roasting coffee, or honing their photography skills.
